Dr. Maria grew up in Pacific Grove, California where she was heavily involved with her church, community, and Sicilian culture. She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara which is where she developed a love for the Santa Barbara area. Following her bachelor’s, she pursued her master’s degree in Global Medicine at the University of Southern California to study public health and a health adjacent curriculum on a global perspective. She then attended dental school at the University of Southern California and practiced dentistry in the Los Angeles area. Dedicated to service both within the community and abroad, she has gone on multiple dental mission trips including to Ecuador, Panama, and the Philippines.
Dr. Maria has recently moved back to the Santa Barbara area to set roots down within the community with her husband, Denton. She enjoys fishing, scuba diving, skiing, snowboarding, any and all sports, and hiking with their rescue dog, Hank.
